Guide for Yakuza 0 - Minigames CP Guide (2024)

Minigames CP List Entries

Befriending Telephone Club Dates

  • Befriend Haruki
  • Befriend Ayaka
  • Befriend Riku

This will come upon completion of Substories 31, 32, and 33.

Disco

  • Friday Night 1
  • Friday Night 2
  • Friday Night 3
  • Queen of Passion 1
  • Queen of Passion 2
  • Queen of Passion 3
  • I'm Gonna Make Her Mine 1
  • I'm Gonna Make Her Mine 2
  • I'm Gonna Make Her Mine 3
  • I Wanna Take You Home 1
  • I Wanna Take You Home 2
  • I Wanna Take You Home 3
  • Koi no DISCO QUEEN 1
  • Koi no DISCO QUEEN 2
  • Koi no DISCO QUEEN 3

You must earn three stars on easy, medium, and hard on all five disco songs. The best way to get a high enough score is to move across as many tiles as you safely can on the way to the next button prompt. Each tile you move across gives you a score multiplier. Also be sure to use your special move with Guide for Yakuza 0 - Minigames CP Guide (1) as soon as you can. You can do this two times each song. It will require a rhythm-based QTE on the Guide for Yakuza 0 - Minigames CP Guide (2). The visual queues for the button prompts can be questionable at times, so I've found it easier to go based on the beat of the song. Always go in the order they appear, and if there are a combo of buttons in quick sequence, only go for extra tiles on the way to the first one. You will not have time to get any extra tiles in the rest of the sequence. Keep practicing and this shouldn't come with too much issue.

  • Collect 10 different motors
  • Collect 15 different motors
  • Collect 5 different gears
  • Collect 10 different gears

  • Collect 20 different frames

Pocket Circuit parts can be obtained from the shop inside the arena, at Ebisu Pawn Shop, Don Quijote, or through dream machines. The majority of them will come from the shop inside the Pocket Circuit arena, so it's best to clear it out first. Initially, there won't be many parts to buy, but as you complete the different races and the storyline, more will become available. This will cost a substantial amount of money, so this is best done while doing Real Estate Royale.

Pocket Circuit Racing

  • Compete in races 10 times
  • Win the Introductory Race
  • Win the Little Racers' Cup
  • Win the Rookies' Cup
  • Win the Pro-Am Cup
  • Win the Experts' Cup
  • Win the Champions' Cup
  • Win the King of Speed Cup

Ten races will come as you complete every cup and every story race. An in-depth guide to the cup races can be found on the 'Pocket Circuit' page of this walkthrough.

JCC

  • Win a total of 1 mil in Catfights
  • Win a total of 10 mil in Catfights
  • Win a total of 100 mil in Catfights

Catfights are unlocked in Chapter 6. Return to the arena anytime afterward to participate. These work as an adult version of rock, paper, scissors, so a lot of this is up to chance. Try to pick a girl with high odds for the highest pay-out.

Arcade Cabinets

  • Get 5 million points in Space Harrier
  • Get 5 million points in OutRun
  • Get 100,000 points in Fantasy Zone
  • Get 5 million points in Super Hang-On

These can be extremely difficult to achieve. The best way to get it is practice, practice, practice. Super Hang On is unlocked by completing the Luka at SEGA HI-TECH LAND Friendship Quest with Kiryu. Fantasy Zone is unlocked by completing the Kyoko at SEGA HI-TECH LAND Friendship Quest with Majima.

For Space Harrier, keep moving and holding down the fire button. Your reflexes will be the determining factor in whether or not you get the score.

For OutRun, constantly choose the left path and shift down for sharp turns. Braking is better than crashing. You'll have to be fast and make it to about the third checkpoint for the score.

Fantasy Zone will be a challenge. Your goal is to destroy all the large enemies in each level (you can tell what's left by the boxes on the bottom of the screen). After that, a boss will spawn. Try to get jet boosters, wide shot, twin rockets, and extra lives when you can from the shop. Going into a boss with a fresh wide shot will make your life a lot easier. You will have to beat four levels, most likely to get 100,000 points. The fourth boss is easily the hardest part of this. Stay on the left half of the screen and pay more attention to dodging the bullets coming your way rather than the boss itself. Play safe and smart, and you should get this eventually.

For Super Hang-On, you will need to make it partially into Stage 5 to hit the five million points. This one is like OutRun, but substantially easier. Try to keep your speed maxed out as much as possible. Only slow down if the turn is too much or you need to evade other racers. Stay on the inside of the turn to start and adjust as needed. Avoid hitting other racers or you will lose speed or get knocked off the track. There is more leeway here than in OutRun, but you still need to play very well to not run out of time.

UFO Catcher

  • Acquire 5 different prizes
  • Acquire 15 different prizes

The UFO Catcher is the claw mini game. You will first get you move it to the left/right, then back by holding Guide for Yakuza 0 - Minigames CP Guide (3). You will need to get all fifteen different toys from the machine. You can check which ones you have already obtained by going to the CP list screen and pressing Guide for Yakuza 0 - Minigames CP Guide (4). Scroll through the menus until you get to the UFO Catcher screen and you will see which ones you have unlocked. If the machine doesn't have a toy you need, talk to the clerk and ask them to change out the prizes. The bigger variants of the chipmunk and bird count as separate toys, so make sure to grab them too. For the smaller toys, aim for grabbing them in the center. Knocking them over first can make it easier for some. For the fat birds, try to get their hat, as there isn't a great angle for them. You might have to keep experimenting with them to find a spot that works good enough. Outside of them, the rest shouldn't be too hard to get. It's a cheap game too, so don't be afraid to keep trying over and over.

Casino Games

  • Earn a total of 10 million in poker
  • Earn a total of 5 million in blackjack
  • Earn a total of 10 million in baccarat
  • Earn a total of 10 million in roulette

There is a casino in Sotenbori you can go to for these games. Make sure to save first and back out after winning each time, so it registers your wins. Loses do not take away from the CP total.

For poker, you are looking to have the best hand to win. Bet high if you are confident in your hand and fold if you have nothing good. Winning hands from worst to best are:

High card: Goes off of the highest value card you have (from high to low: A, K, Q, J, 10-2)

Pair: Two of the same card value (eg: 2, 2)

Two pairs: Two of the same card value twice (eg: 2, 2, 3, 3)

Three of a kind: Three of the same card value (eg: 2, 2, 2)

Straight: Five cards in a sequence (eg: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, 8, 9, 10, J etc.)

Flush: Five cards in the same suit (eg: club, heart, spade, diamond)

Full House: A combination of a three of a kind and a pair (eg: 5, 5, 5, J, J)

Four of a kind: Four of the same card value (eg: 3, 3, 3, 3)

Straight flush: Five cards in a sequence with the same suit (eg: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 all clubs)

Royal flush: Five cards in a sequence with the same suit, but 10, J, Q, K, A

In blackjack, your goal is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. J, Q, and K count as 10 and A can be either 1 or 11, whichever is more helpful to your current hand. Choosing to hit will add another card to your hand. Choosing to stay will end the round. You must beat the dealer in order to win. Always hit if you are under 10.

For baccarat, just put all your chips on either player or banker and back out after winning or reload if you lost. Keep doing this until you hit 10 million.

For roulette, the safest way to win is to put it all on either red or black then back out if you win. Another strategy is to put 1,000 chips per number on as many numbers as you can, but this is even more luck based than all red or black.

West Park Gambling

  • Earn a total of 1 million in cho-han
  • Earn a total of 1 million in cee-lo
  • Earn a total of 1 million in koi-koi
  • Earn a total of 1 million in oicho-kabu

Cho-han is a very simple dice game. Your goal is to guess whether the roller rolled an odd or even number with their two hidden dice. If you win, you get your bet back, plus a portion of whomever lost the bet. Quit after each win to bank your profits.

Cee-lo is a dice game where you want to roll your three dice to get a higher score than the banker. You get three chances to roll before you're locked in. If you get a pair, the third dice is your score, for example, 2, 2, 4 gives you a score of 4. A score of 1 is an automatic loss and a score of 6 is an automatic win. On top of that, there are specific rolls you can get.

  • Triple: Automatic win and your bet is tripled
  • 1-1-1: Automatic win and your bet is 5x
  • 4-5-6: Automatic win and your bet is doubled
  • 1-2-3: Automatic loss and you lose twice your bet
  • 6-3-4: "Musashi" is worth 6 points and doubles the amount won or lost
  • 1-3-5: All-Odds. Your total is 3, unless you aren't the first roller, in which case your points are the same as the person before you
  • 2-4-6: All-Evens. Your total is 4, unless you aren't the last roller, in which case your points are the same as the person after you
  • Missing the Pot: Automatic loss

Quit after each win to bank your profits.

Koi-koi uses Hanafuda cards. Hanafuda is 48 cards separated into 12 different months. At the start of the game, you and your opponent will receive eight cards each, and eight will be placed on the table. You are wanting to make pairs on your turn, one from your hand and one from the table. These pairs will be made for going toward a set or hand (in the table below). Once you've made a hand, you can declare Koi-koi to continue playing to build more hands. A round is over once no more hands can be made. You earn points based on the hands you make. If you declare Koi-koi and your opponent makes a hand, they will receive all the points in that round, so be careful.

Quit after each win to bank your profits.

Oicho-kabu also uses Hanafuda cards but plays closer to something like baccarat or blackjack. Your goal is to have the point value of your hand as close to 9 as possible. For example, if the cards in your hand add up to 15, your score is 5. The game starts with each player picking a card from the table and the dealer getting on face-down. Each player then gets a second card face-down. Players then decide if they want a third card to try to get closer to 9 or stick with their 2. The dealer then gets a second face-down card.

Once the round is over, the player closest to nine wins. The dealer wins on ties. There are also special occurrences that can cause victories.

  • A player dealt a 4 and a 1 wins double your bet
  • The dealer dealt a 9 and a 1 wins double bet (this beats a 4 and a 1 player)
  • A 3-of-a-kind wins triple your bet
  • Being dealt a 10, 10, and a 1 wins 20x your bet

Quit after each win to bank your profits.

Darts

  • Perform 10 hat-tricks
  • Earn a total of 10 million in darts

Play count-up and go for three bullseyes in a row for a hat-trick. Darts feel like it can be a little random, but you can use a bit of precision to get your shots on target with moderate consistency. Ready your throw by pulling back on the stick. Line up the top of the dart a little below where you want it to go and try to wait for your hand to steady. Release the stick to let it fly and hope it goes well. You might have to make micro-adjustments to get it just right, but the near constant swaying of your hand really makes this more random than it should be. Keep playing against people in Vincent and bet as much as you're comfortable with and you'll hit ¥10 million in no time.

Pool

  • Perform 3 combination shots
  • Perform 3 carom shots
  • Earn a total of 10 million in pool

Play 9-ball pool for the combination and carom shots, so you don't have to deal with another player. In 9-ball, you'll have to hit the balls in order from 1 to 9. Hitting a ball out of sequence or missing a ball will cause a foul and move your cue ball, so use this to your advantage if you need a better angle. A combination shot is when you hit one ball, causing it to strike a second ball, which then goes into a pocket. For example, hitting the 1 ball into the 2 ball, causing the 2 ball to go into the pocket. A carom shot is hitting one ball, having your cue ball bounce off of the first ball and into a second ball, knocking that one in. For example, hitting the 1 ball, the cue ball bounces off and hits the 2 ball, causing the 2 ball to go into the pocket.

Like a real game of pool, there's some luck involved in getting the balls to line up for you, but you can control it by hitting them into position for you. Just make sure when your going for the shots you hit the lowest value ball on the table first, so you don't foul on the shot. This is going to take a lot of practice, especially if you're not used to pool, but keep at it and it will eventually happen. For the ¥10 million, keep challenging another play at Vincent and bet as high as you are comfortable with until you earn enough.

Batting

  • Earn a total of 5 million by batting

There's a little trick to batting that will help you in the long run. All you have to worry about is aiming and paying attention to Kiryu. His standard animation while waiting for a pitch is to move the bat around in small circles. When he's ready to hit the ball, he will stop moving his arms. This is when you swing the bat. Focus on lining up your shot as quickly as you can, then focus on Kiryu's arms for the timing on the swing. It might take some practice to get down, but this trick should save you some time and frustration toward getting ¥5 million in batting.

Bowling

  • Bowl 10 strikes
  • Earn a total of 10 million in split games

There's a trick to getting strikes semi-frequently. Move your cursor near the left edge of the lane, about in line with the last arrow on the left a bit up the lane. Now, angle your shot toward the 10 pin (the last one on the right). Try to get your power around 80-95 and put one away from max left spin on your ball. You might have to experiment with the right amount of power, but this should be getting you strikes more often than not.

Split games are a bit more challenging. A split in bowling is when two or more pins are still up, but there is a one or more pin gap between them. Your goal is to find the angle to knock down all the remaining pins in one throw. It costs ¥5 million to play and there are ten different challenges per game. You get three allowances if you mess up. The more money a challenge is worth, the harder it is, so aim for the lower cost ones first to work toward getting a profit going before taking on the harder ones. There are some really great video guides out there if you need a visual reference for each challenge.

Shogi

  • Win 1 shogi game without a take back
  • Win 3 shogi games without a take back
  • Win 5 shogi games without a take back

kento-shogi.com

This website will be your life saver for shogi. Make sure your opponent goes first, then copy his move with the bottom set of pieces on the website. On the right side, you will be given suggestions on the best possible move. Click the #1 option and copy in for your move in-game. Keep doing this and you should win without having to take back a turn. Alternatively, if the website isn't working for you, download a shogi app on your phone or browser and set the difficulty up to its highest. Same as before, have your opponent in-game go first and copy their moves on the shogi app. Copy what the AI does in-game to beat them readily. Do this 5 times and you're done with shogi without a lot of hassle. Easy as that.

Mahjong

  • Go out 10 times
  • Go out with Mangan 5 times
  • Go out with Haneman 1 time
  • Go out with Riichi Ippatsu
  • Go out with Full Straight
  • Earn a total of 10 million in mahjong

Oh boy. mahjong. This is the one that gets most people on the way to 100% CP list completion in this game. Mahjong is a very complex game with a lot of rules and ways to go out. So much so, that I'm dedicating an entire page to it. Please refer to the 'Mahjong' page of this walkthrough for the guide on it.

Fishing

  • Collect 5 different freshwater fish
  • Collect 15 different freshwater fish
  • Collect 5 different saltwater fish
  • Collect 18 different saltwater fish

Fishing isn't very hard. It's about patience and perseverance. There are two different fishing areas in Yakuza 0: the saltwater area at the Kamurocho Pier and the freshwater area in the river of Sotenbori. Each fishing area has two spots where you can cast your line. For the best chances, make sure you stock up on quality bait from an M Store and buy the peerless pole from Ebisu Pawn Shop.

Once you start fishing at a spot, you will see the silhouettes of fish in the water. You will want to cast your line close to the front of the fish to try to entice it to your pole. Once it is, wait until the red line on your bobber begins entering the water before you try to reel it in. Once hooked, complete the simple QTE to successfully catch the fish. Sometimes it will be something other than a fish, like something to sell or trash. Use your bait once out of fish to spawn in more. Each spot in a fishing area has its own unique fish, so you will have to move once you get all of them at one spot. You can see what fish you've caught in the inventory menu.

Karaoke

  • Get 90+ in 'Judgement -Shinpan-' (Kiryu)
  • Get 90+ in 'Bakamitai' (Kiryu)
  • Get 90+ in 'x3 Shine' (Kiryu)
  • Get 90+ in 'Heartbreak Mermaid' (Kiryu)
  • Get 90+ in 'Rouge of Love' (Kiryu)
  • Get 90+ in '24-hour Cinderella' (Majima)
  • Get 90+ in 'x3 Shine' (Majima)
  • Get 90+ in 'Heartbreak Mermaid' (Majima)
  • Get 90+ in 'Rouge of Love' (Majima)

Karaoke is either going to be really easy or really hard for you. It's a rhythm-based minigame, like disco, but more akin to something like Guitar Hero or Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. How fast the cursor moves from line to line is not consistent, so focus more on the beat of the song to anticipate when to hit the next button on the next line, rather than the current speed on the line you're on. Practice, practice, practice if you're not hitting 90+ on these songs. It really comes down to your ability to hit the notes on the beat. For the songs where you are doing interjections, you must choose lively interjections for it to count for that song.
